One senior officer who jumped to the aid of a partner who was ambushed by a knife attacker received the King's Commendation for Courage.
Sergeant Tim Ansell grappled with 27-yr-old Jacob Brown after he pressed a blade to the throat of his colleague Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown launched his attack as the law enforcement personnel and their colleague, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a driver subsequent to a traffic accident in that location in mid-2023.
Brown attacked with blade the two Sgt Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to Police Constable Wolstencroft stopped him with a electric weapon.
"Officer knifed," the constable stated over his radio.

He collided with the policeman who stumbled and dropped to the ground, after which Sergeant Ansell stepped in and struggled to restrain him to the floor despite being continually attacked with the weapon.
Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and waited for a safe opportunity, bringing the struggle to an finish.
Sgt Ansell can be heard to say: "Can I get assistance on my throat now, I've been stabbed in the neck."
Sergeant Ansell suffered multiple lacerations to his neck and more injuries to his limbs and torso, whereas Sergeant Foster suffered cut injuries.
Officials said Sgt Foster utilized his palms to stem his fellow officer's bleeding before paramedics came.
The new award follows after the trio of policemen won organizational Courage Honors in late 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the local Police Federation in early 2024.
They further earned a Regional Courage Honor in mid-2024.
"The actions of all three officers eventually saved one another and ensured no bystanders experienced any harm."
Brown received a sentence to an indefinite hospital order in April 2024, per officials.
